Springtime weather brings with it a smorgasbord of green plants and colorful wildflowers to eat. But for a bighorn sheep, warmer weather also means dealing with new insect hoards and shedding your old winter fur.
As you can tell by the apparent smile on this bighorn ram's face, a little back-scratching goes a long way towards soothing whatever's itching ya'. This ram is rubbing his backside against a young ponderosa pine, while the ram on the back side is gently scratching his face and head.
This is one instance when a little wordless video might have told this story better. Maybe even a little waltz playing in the background...
